Susie Mac Murray is from Manchester and graduated in Art. She works both as a sculptor and an architect of interiors with a very personal approach. Attracted by the relationship between materials and the body, she has made a series of sculpture dresses in the most improbable materials, from chains to metal needles and latex gloves. To show her artistic dresses she prefers historical environments, in order to underline the virtuosity of her work. The shapes of her evening dresses reveal expert tailoring skills anda predilection for close-fitting silhouettes that caress the body and fall in soft folds. The lines reveal analogies with Alaia’s style, almost as if Susie would like to highlight tailoring skills based on a good cut.Dedicating herself to sculpture dresses, realized in unexpected often poor materials, Susie offers a vision that is not seasonal and ephemeral, elevating it to the ranks of an unusual art form, capable of surprising.
