The Fornasetti brand has a new home in Corso Venezia, Milan, in the neo-classical palazzo that was once home to the young Filippo Tommaso Marinetti (founder of the futurist movement) who launched his “Poesia” review here in 1905. Three floors to visit, room after room, each one in a different colour and designed to showcase the furniture and items from the brand’s repertoire. This sort of contemporary wunderkammer has been created at the wishes of Barnaba Fornasetti who, in inventive and philological terms, has brought the “imagination and creativity” of his father Piero back to life, while continuing to guarantee the authenticity of the designs in person. Fornasetti was seeking a larger space for the Corso Matteotti store, where he could showcase and share the story of his father’s bizarre poetry. Thanks to the exemplary management skills of Barnaba, Piero’s extraordinary talent is as alive as it was in the time of his studio in Via Brera, and thanks to this new home, it now has a larger, diversified space in which to show all of its variety.
