Lighting brand Masiero presented a new collection during the 2018 Salone del Mobile in Milan, in an old disused printing works in Via Moscova. Standing out here was the set of “Nappe” hanging lights by Venetian designer Marco Zito; inspired by the silk tassels on the curtains in Venetian palazzos, it has close links to the world of fashion. Then we have the Sound series of lamps by Giovanni Battista Gianola formed of a series of bronzed metal rings framing white light bulbs, and “Honicé”, the large ceiling light by Oriano Favaretto with its slim rectangular leaves of onyx joined by a gilt metal ring. Finally, Marc Sadler has designed “Raqam”, a modular metal pendant light that can be arranged into various configurations as desired. The new items on offer demonstrate an original figurative approach that makes the company stand out on the lighting scene, giving it an elegance on a par with that of high-class tailoring.
