Annibale Colombo is a manufacturer of classic furnishings with proven experience and expertise. Two years ago he had the idea of asking Matteo Garrone, producer of the stunning short, “Before design classic” – used by the Salone to showcase Italian skills globally – to direct a film dedicated to promoting classic style. He also had the idea to hire archistar and newly appointed President of the Triennale, Stefano Boeri, to design a furnishing product. The result of this surprise encounter is a piece of entrance furniture inspired by tradition. Boeri decided to call it “Mettiutto”, and it was shown at the 2017 Salone, anticipating the trends that in 2018 would see a return to traditional furnishing in place of fitted wall units. Thanks to the great working relationship between Annibale and Stefano, which started in a convivial meeting, Colombo style, merging classic and contemporary. Colombo now takes a well-earned position among trend-influencing brands, while Stefano Boeri can now add trend-setting designer to his medals for vertical green architecture.
