Milan’s Salone del Mobile has been to the Exhibition Centre, Shanghai for the second year, confirming the success of the event.Made in Italy furniture and furnishings has maintained and increased its appeal with the Chinese public, with large numbers thronging to the stands. It was also the second year for the Salone Satellite Shanghai, which saw 50 young Chinese designers showcasing their work and showing how China is on the up as a melting pot for new talents, ready to work on international markets. The award winners from this event will be invited to the next edition of the Salone Satellite in Milan, as part of the Salone del Mobile 2018 (17/22 April). As a supplement to the furniture show, a series of Master Classes was held by big names in Italian and Chinese architecture and design for the purpose of taking a more detailed look at the subjects of design. Exhibitors included important names in furniture and lighting, such as Foscarini, which stood out for the signs on its stand, all about red lacquer and created by Ferrucio Laviani.
