The spring/summer 2016/17 Kartell collection by Paula Cademartori showcases both the expertise of Kartell and the creativity of the young Brazilian designer who, after studying at the Istituto Marangoni, has launched his own brand of accessories in Milan. The “Kartell à la mode” division, founded by Lorenza Luti in 2008 has grown over the seasons, honing its vocation: to transform plastic into a high fashion material. The summer 2017 collection, designed by Paula, ex-student of the Istituto Marangoni, includes bags and sandals, inspired by the bright colours of Rio de Janeiro’s flourishing botanical gardens, playing with weaves and floral decorations. It is an invitation to experience summer in patterns, with the bold brights of tropical countries. The collection, distributed through Massimo Bonini’s showroom, will be on sale on line from January 2017, to bring a hint of Brazil to the coming summer. The range, devised by two creative businesswomen, was previewed at Milan’s Rinascente store in November. It has turned out to be an anticipator of trends, with sandals and bags that are super decorated with tropical flowers and leaves, the ideal accessories for a new summer look that is all about patterns, above all florals.
